Child’s Ten Commandments to Parents

1. My hands are small. Please don't expect perfection whenever I make a bed, draw a picture or throw a ball. My legs are short. Please slow down so that I can keep up with you.

2. My eyes have not seen the world as yours have. Please let me explore safely. Don't restrict me unnecessarily.

3. Housework will always be there. I'm only little for such a short time. Please take time to explain things to me about this wonderful world, and do so willingly.

4. My feelings are tender. Please be sensitive to my needs. Don't nag me all day long. (You wouldn't want to be nagged for your inquisitiveness.) Treat me as you would like to be treated.

5. I am a special gift from God. Please treasure me, holding me accountable for my actions, giving me guidelines to live by and disciplining me in a loving manner.

6. I need your encouragement and your praise to grow. Please go easy on the criticism. Remember, you can criticize the things I do without criticizing me.

7. Please give me the freedom to make decisions concerning myself. Permit me to fail so that I can learn from my mistakes. Then someday, I'll be prepared to make the kind of decisions life requires of me.

8. Please don't do things over for me. Somehow that makes me feel that my efforts didn't quite measure up to your expectations. I know it's hard, but please don't try to compare me with my brother or my sister.

9. Please don't be afraid to leave for a weekend together. Kids need vacations from parents, just as parents need vacations from kids. Besides, it's a great way to show us kids that your marriage is very special.

10. Please take me to worship regularly, setting a good example for me to follow.

Did you eat your vegetables today?

"Did your mother always tell you to eat your vegetables? Well it turns out that mom was right again because vegetables are low in fat and calories."

"They also provide fiber, vitamins (such as Vitamins A and C and Folate) and minerals...."

"To all parents out there.. please encourage your kids to eat vegetables. Because we all know that vegetables are important sources of many nutrients to make them grow big and strong like me!"

Aguinaldo Shrine

The Aguinaldo Shrine

I enjoyed my visit to the Aguinaldo Shrine yesterday, birthplace and home of General Emilio Aguinaldo. Mommy said that the town of Kawit played an important role in the Philippines political history. The proclamation of the Republic of the Philippines was made in this town on the balcony of the home of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo. It was in this house where the Philippine flag was first unfurled in June 12, 1898. And Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo became the first President of the Philippine Republic.

The Shrine is located in Kawit (which literally means hook-after the “hook” of land it is located on). The Aguinaldo Shrine opens 8 am - 5pm daily. There is no entrance fee but you may make a donation.

Makulay ang Buhay sa Sinabawang Gulay!

The Knorr, Makulay ang Buhay is one of my new favorite TV commercial. This TV ad is about the new product of Knorr, a seasoning to vegetables. It features the kids of Goin' Bulilit to get the attention of children and their parents to encourage the kids to eat vegetables.
Mommy researched the lyrics so she can sing it to me. Here's the video and lyrics.

Makulay Ang Buhay Sa Sinabawang Gulay

Dati ang gulay ‘di ko tinitikman
Parati na lang iniiwasan
Pero ang gulay ay masarap pala
Kapag sinabawan mo siya

Makulay (makulay)
Ang buhay (ang buhay)
Makulay ang buhay
Sa sinabawang gulay

Sinabawang gulay, sarap talaga
Ang bawat higop ay puno ng saya
Sinabawang gulay, sarap namnamin
Lumalakas ako, lahat ay kayang gawin

Makulay (makulay)
Ang buhay (ang buhay)
Makulay ang buhay
Sa sinabawang gulay

Sabaw pa lamang ay healthy na
Lagyan ng knorr at gulay, kami’y tuwang tuwa
Gumagaling ng todo sa aral at laro
Kaya’t tara na maki-higop na kayo

Makulay (makulay)
Ang buhay (ang buhay)
Makulay ang buhay
Sa sinabawang gulay

Makulay (makulay)
Ang buhay (ang buhay)
Makulay ang buhay
Sa sinabawang gulay
