The Aguinaldo Shrine

I enjoyed my visit to the Aguinaldo Shrine yesterday, birthplace and home of General Emilio Aguinaldo. Mommy said that the town of Kawit played an important role in the Philippines political history. The proclamation of the Republic of the Philippines was made in this town on the balcony of the home of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo. It was in this house where the Philippine flag was first unfurled in June 12, 1898. And Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo became the first President of the Philippine Republic.

The Shrine is located in Kawit (which literally means hook-after the “hook” of land it is located on). The Aguinaldo Shrine opens 8 am - 5pm daily. There is no entrance fee but you may make a donation.

Yesterday was the feast of San Roque de Padua in Pag-Asa. It was simply celebrated with the usual parade called "karakol", thanksgiving mass and procession.

Before the mass my Kuya Ian teach me how to play the organ and read the "piyesa".

It started when I had the fever last Sunday. My mom was worried because it is my first time to be sick. She was alarmed when my fever reached 39.8. Then we went to my pedia. But my pedia said there's nothing to worry about, the fever will be gone soon and the red spots (measles) will appear. My flawless skin is now flawed.....I guess there's nothing to worry about.

It was a funfilled and yet tiring long weekend. But for me, I enjoyed having mom around for the past 6 days! I had so much fun bonding with her.

And later in the evening, my mom woke me up and brought me outside to witness the New Year Celebration. There were loud noises, there were lots of smoke outside, and I could see some bright lights up above.
So this is how a New Year's Eve is celebrated. It was fun!

The next day after hearing mass, mommy ninang went to our house with my cousins. I had fun playing with them. I hope to have more great time with my parents this 2007.

Yesterday,mom and I went to SMB together with TitoNinong Jeff, TitaNinang Awu and Kuya Jarred. After a few hours of walking it made us hungry. So we decided to eat at Jollibee.

My 6th Month Birthday!

I was 6 months old last Sept. 18. I switched milk from NAN1HA to NAN2HA. I was feeling a bit sick a couple weeks ago because I now have my two lower teeth. My pedia advised to eat banana, apple and to drink Hydrite.I can now eat cerelac, otmeal, vegetable, fruits, crackers. I now weigh 8.5 kilograms which is still big for my age.

Mom said I’m becoming so makulit. I’ve become fond of biting anything! My mom’s phones, my dad’s thumb, barney’s tag, my toys, my pacifier and even my pillows. Hmmm… yummy!

A Day at SM Mall of Asia

Yesterday we went to SM Mall of Asia. We arrived there at 2:14pm. We watched the Dog Show. Dog shows are confusing to the casual observer. It’s often tough to follow the schedule, understand the judging process, or figure out why one dog was chosen over another. Why are some breeds divided by size or color and others are not? And just what it is that the judge is looking for when he looks at a dog’s mouth, feels its ribs, or watches it gait around the ring. I saw dogs like Siberian Husky, Doberman, Bulldog, Shih Tzu and Chihuahua. After that we stroll and stroll, and do some picture taking with Mr. Bean and Teddy, Winnie the Pooh and SM Mall of Asia sign until I get tired and fall asleep. While I'm sleeping dad and mom decided to eat @ Kalye Juan. After that I have to say bye-bye. Till my next visit!

Yesterday I received my Hepatitis B shot into the thigh. I think I'm braver than other baby in the clinic because I only let out a quick squeal when the injection was administered, then I promptly went back to sleep. I now weigh 8.5lbs. But as think about how I have been gaining weight I am also worried about how other children are not able to receive sustainance because of poverty.

It's Time to Start Solid Foods!

Mom introduced to me the cereals, oatmeal, fruits, egg, and vegetables for my diet. It is the solid food that I am allowed to eat. It is iron fortified so I’m sure I will have good eyesight. Mom feeds me in the morning because I’m relaxed during that time. I consumed only 2 teaspoon of cereals. For me, it surely taste good. (Yummy!) But maybe I am not used of having something rough and a bit sticky in my mouth so I always push it out. Hahaha! Given enough time, mom will surely have a hard time on stopping me to eat. I am looking forward for my next feeding time. It's really fun and enjoyable to be able to be exposed in the things that I need to know while growing up.
" Mom, don't worry about the mess... there will be many more to come!" Hahaha!

This is a typical day for me. Sleeping, drinking milk.. But even if I am just a small boy I am aware of the things happening around me. I know I am the reason why my mom is happy and contented even if sometimes she’s facing some problems. I give her smiles.. lots of smiles. Right now I started to mutter some syllables. I had my check-up today. I am now 7.4 kilograms, which is still ok according to my pediatrician (Dr. Dillon Monzon). No need to diet! Hehehe!The other mother said that I’m big for my age. I think babies today tend to be bigger than the past generation due to better nutrition they get.

I don’t think I can fit into the scale anymore. Look at me? Do I look scared?

Yesterday (July 18) was my 3rd Month Birthday! Mom was supposed to cook pasta but she went to Tita Ninang’s house so she bought ready-made food instead. Some of my cousins went to our house to celebrate the day with me.
Then we went to my Lola’s house (dad's mom) to get my things. Ninang Chrizel, Ninong Tofer and Tita Neng were there. They gave me some old stuff of Kuya Cedrick. (Thanks!) They were so happy seeing me again.

What Makes Good Mothers?

It is a pertinent question whose answer cannot be contained within a few words. Mothers comprise of a bundle of emotions that sometimes defy reason. So this goes out to all the mothers who have kept awake all night with their sick toddlers in their arms, constantly uttering those compassionate words, "It's OK honey, Mommy's here."

- For those who show up at work with milk stains on their dress and diapers in their handbags.

- For those mothers who cannot restrain tears from trickling down their cheeks when they hold their babies for the first time in their arms.

- For the mothers who give birth to babies they'll never see.

- For the mothers who gave homes to babies and gifted them a family.

- For the mothers who defy all odds just to watch kids perform and repeat to themselves "That's my child!!"

- For the mothers who taught their children to tie the shoelaces even before they started going to school.

- For the mothers who incontinently turn their heads when they hear the word "Mom",
even though they know that their kids are nowhere around.

- For all those mothers whose heart aches to watch her son or daughter disappear down the street, walking to school alone for the very first time.

- For the mothers of the Survivors, and the mothers who sat in front of their TVs in horror, clinging to their child who just arrived from school safely.

So, this is meant for all the young and aged mothers, working mothers and housewives, married mothers and the single mothers, those with money and without and for those without whom life would have been insufferable. Wish you a very Happy Mother's Day!!

April 23 is a memorable event as they welcome me to the Christian World! I received the Sacrament of Baptism in Sto. Niño de Molino Parish at Bahayang Pag-Asa, Molino Bacoor, Cavite. My godparents are good friends, cousins, brother and sister of my mom and dada. Along with Ninong Jeffrey Gamat and Ninang Chrizel Daluz my ninongs are Gerald Cruz, Calvin Pabelonio, Hernani Fuesca Jr., Jesser Bayot, Joseph Salvagon, Christopher Daluz, Reynaldo Navera, Arnel Binauhan, Mark Ronquillo, Sunny Rey Magpayo and Alden Navera. My ninangs are Gerlie Gamat, Rozen Idioma, Marissa Ramos, Sheryl Esguerra-Miro, Dianne Zerrudo, Lalaine Soltes, Sarah Gonzales, Abiline Ruth Magpayo, Merissa Barbon and Monica Magpayo.
